Part Time Music Educator -Flexible Hours- SGB Post

Job Summary
Carter High seeks to appoint a dynamic and passionate School Music Teacher on a part time basis who is creative, innovative, and dedicated to inspiring students through music education. The successful candidate will play a key role in nurturing the musical talent of our learners. The ability to teach Life Orientation will be considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
· Teach piano and one wind or string instrument to all pupils of the High School.
· Train and lead the school choir, fostering excellence in choral performance
· Assist with administrative tasks related to the maintenance, care, and procurement of musical instruments, ensuring their proper use and safekeeping
· Support the organisation of school concerts, productions, and other events involving the Music Department
· Contribute to the development and growth of music across Carter community
· Ability to teach the theoretical aspects of music
· Ability to teach Life Orientation will be advantageous
Required Skills & Qualification
· Bachelor of Music Degree or similar suitable qualification
· Proficiency in piano and at least one wind or string instrument
· Strong vocal and choral skills
· Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal abilities
· A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young musicians
A minimum of 2 years experience teaching music in a school environment

4. An affidavit confirming that you have never been convicted of a sexual offense.
5. A valid police clearance certificate.
6. SACE certification
